Card Scanner is an independently developed application for scanning business cards and saving selected information to the device's contacts.

Information the app handles

Card Scanner may access the camera or an image selected by you to recognise a business card. Text recognition and field extraction are performed on the device. The app may access contacts to find possible duplicates, show saved values, update an existing contact, or create a new contact after you choose to save.

Depending on your settings, the app may retain scan details and card images on the device. Android's platform backup may back up eligible app preferences and scan metadata to the account selected in device settings. Listmonk credentials and newsletter state are excluded from app backup.

Optional network features

The app does not use advertising or analytics SDKs.

If you enable a Listmonk integration, selected contact information may be sent to the Listmonk server and list you configure. Credentials are stored on the device and are not included in app backup.

If you choose to join the Card Scanner community newsletter, the email address you enter is sent to the Card Scanner Listmonk service at lists.inukollu.in. Subscription confirmation and removal are handled through emails sent by that service.

If you explicitly open a web search to verify a company, the search terms are sent to the selected browser and search provider under that provider's privacy policy.

Control and deletion

You can edit or delete scan history in the app, disable scan history, remove locally stored card images, disconnect Listmonk, and unsubscribe from the community newsletter. Contacts saved through Card Scanner are managed by the device's contacts application and account provider.

Uninstalling Card Scanner removes its local application data, subject to the device platform's backup and restore behaviour. It does not automatically delete contacts already saved to a contacts account or information previously sent to a user-configured service.

Permissions

Card Scanner requests camera access for scanning and contacts access for contact saving, duplicate detection, viewing, and editing. Network access is used only for user-initiated or user-enabled network features.
